AEA Email Directions

In an effort to stop using First Class to communicate, the AEA has established email accounts for its members. This came out of the frustration of trying to gather and maintain a list of personal emails during negotiations the summer of 2010 and even prior to that.  The union also recognizes the fact that every email we send over First Class is archived by the district and becomes public document to anyone that wants to ask the district for a copy. Be careful what you send through work email...

The email we will be using is our part of own Google domain. It will be much like Gmail. However, our email addresses will end in In order to access your AEA email, you will need to visit and choose to "Sign In." Your username will be your first initial + your last Your password will be given to you at your request by Joe Vellegas or your building representative after the first rep council of the year. You can always change your password after you log in with your initial password.

You're probably saying... "Oh no, not another login and password!" or "I don't want another email account!" If you feel this way, we suggest you log in to your email account and change the settings to forward all the email that comes to that account to your personal email account. This way you still receive email from the AEA, but you can continue using just your personal email.  PLEASE DO NOT FORWARD THE AEA EMAIL TO YOUR FIRST CLASS WORK EMAIL! This defeats the purpose of establishing an email system outside of the First Class system and makes the AEA emails public record again. You may WANT to use your AEA email to communicate instead of forwarding because it will work much like First Class in that you can easily look up emails of members by simply typing in the first part of their names. It's up to you.

We've included directions and a video below for how to change your password and forward your AEA email to your own personal address. If you have questions or need further assistance, please contact Joe Vellegas.

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Choose "Mail Settings" in the upper-right-hand corner of your window.
